Florida Real Estate CE That Reports Your Hours to the DBPR — For You

Do you report your own real estate CE hours in Florida? No. Your FREC-approved provider reports completed CE hours to the DBPR; you submit nothing yourself. Comet CE files your completed hours with the Florida DBPR on your behalf and issues your certificate the moment you finish. You simply complete your renewal online with the DBPR and pay the fee by your renewal date — we handle the reporting.

Who reports your Florida CE hours to the DBPR

Who reports — the licensee or the provider?

The provider does. In Florida, your approved continuing-education provider is responsible for reporting your completed hours to the DBPR — the licensee does not file them. Comet CE files on your behalf, so you submit nothing to the state.

How reporting works at Comet CE

  1. 1You finish the course. When you complete your courses and pass, your certificate of completion is generated and emailed to you.
  2. 2Comet CE files your hours. Comet CE reports your completed CE hours to the Florida DBPR on your behalf. You submit nothing to the state.
  3. 3You keep your certificate. Your certificate stays in your account and is downloadable any time as your own proof of completion.

Does this cover every license class?

Florida’s 14-hour CE requirement is identical for sales associates, broker associates, and brokers (Fla. Stat. § 475.182; FAC 61J2-3.009), and the $24.90 14-hour bundle covers all of it — with the completed hours filed to the DBPR on your behalf for every one of those classes.

The one exception is a licensee’s first renewal, which requires post-licensing education instead of CE. If you are still in your first license cycle, this bundle is not what you need — see Florida post-licensing and your first renewal.
